MY FAVORITE THINGS // ROCKY MOUNTAIN OILS CHAKRA BLENDS

My go-to essential oils brand, Rocky Mountain Oils, just released a brand new "chakra-inspired" product line, and I was lucky enough to get to take it for a test drive before it launched earlier this month! I already love all of their other oil roll-ons, so it was so fun to try this seven-piece set. These chakra roll-ons are extra special because each one is designed to be applied to a different part of your body, and each rollerball is made of a different gemstone. They're so pretty!!

If you don't know what chakras are, they're the seven various "energy centers" throughout your body (you might hear about this during yoga or meditation practice, or during studies of Buddhism and Hinduism). Apparently, each chakra corresponds to a different aspect of your emotional, physical and spiritual well-being and has a unique purpose. Being aware of each of these chakras is supposed to help balance your mood and energy.

While I'm not sure that I 100% believe in chakras, I do think they each represent an important part of our lives and selves that we need to pay attention to and take care of. The root chakra (feet and base of spine) reminds us to stay grounded, trust our inner instincts, and remain connected to the beautiful planet around us. The sacral chakra (lower abdomen) reminds us to pay attention to our emotions and follow our passions. The solar plexus chakra (upper abdomen) reminds us to be confident in our abilities and personal power. The heart chakra reminds us to show love to ourselves and the people around us, and to be open to receiving love from others. The throat chakra (the one I usually need the most focusing on) reminds us to use our voices to speak up for ourselves and others and to remain true to ourselves. The third eye chakra (between the brows) reminds us to keep an open mind and work towards understanding. And finally, the crown chakra (top of head) reminds us to pay attention to the joy and peace found inside ourselves and the world around us.

I started applying the oils to each chakra every night before bed and it was actually a really relaxing ritual that helped me wind down before going to sleep. I love the root chakra blend because it feels really good when I roll it onto the soles of my feet -- like a gentle foot massage. The heart chakra roll-on is another favorite because it smells great and I love the rose quartz rollerball. It's also strangely calming to roll it on over my chest. And, of course, I like applying the throat chakra because it reminds me (a person who hates raising her voice) to not be afraid to do it when necessary. Click HERE to learn more about the new RMO Chakra Collection!

MY FAVORITE THINGS // ROCKY MOUNTAIN OILS ESSENTIAL OILS

I was just thinking about how much I love my essential oils. It's amazing how something so small can really bring joy to your life. I haven’t shared about them on here in a while, so I put together this little post about my favorites from my go-to brand, Rocky Mountain Oils, and what I use them for. Check it out below! If you've been considering trying oils, I can't recommend them enough! Happy diffusing!

Rosemary

My mom introduced me to this oil and now I’m hooked! It smells fresh and clean when you diffuse it – it’s great for in the kitchen or even the bedroom. It’s supposed to help purify the air in your home and apparently helps with concentration. I tend to diffuse it during the day when I’m working, cooking or cleaning in the apartment. The smell is subtle but so nice! This was the first oil my mom purchased when she decided to give essential oils a try, and it was a great starter oil for her! Click HERE to shop.

 Sacred Immune Strength

I love this oil so much that I have it in both a roll-on and the regular oil. It has this delicious, spicy, musky scent that I love. Sometimes I roll it on as a perfume! It makes me constantly want to smell myself haha! I usually diffuse this during the day and even overnight when one of us is feeling a little run down or under the weather. It’s supposed to help keep your immune system strong so you can fight off illness. I keep the roll-on on my desk at work and apply it when a coworker is sick or whenever I feel like a cold might be coming on. Maybe this is all in my head, but about a month ago I started getting a sore throat so I applied this oil to my throat and the bottoms of my feet for several days and it never turned into a cold!! Even if this oil doesn’t actually keep colds away, I would still use it just for the amazing scent! Click HERE to shop the roll-on. Click HERE to shop the regular oil.

Grapefruit

If you’re into fruity and fresh smelling candles, you’ll love diffusing this oil! It smells so bright and cheerful! I usually diffuse this during the day in spring/summer and it helps to keep me alert. I also feel like it’s hard to be in a bad mood when the room has the scent of grapefruit in the air. It’s a great oil to add to your homemade cleaning sprays too. The scent is perfect for the kitchen or bathroom! Click HERE to shop.

Tranquility

I have this oil in a roll-on and I keep it on my desk at work. If I ever start feeling upset or anxious, I just apply a little to my wrists and take deep breaths in. I also tend to put some on before a meeting, for a boost of calm. I feel like it would be great to diffuse before bed too. It smells soft and sweet, and I love it! Click HERE to shop.

Tea Tree

I keep this oil in our bathroom cabinet and add a few drops to my shower whenever I want a little boost. The steam from the shower really activates the scent and makes me feel like I’m having my own little spa day (you can also do this with Eucaplyptus oil when you’re feeling congested). It perks me up and it smells fresh and clean! This oil also has antiseptic and anti-fungal properties, so you can apply it to rashes and other skin issues to help clear them up. Click HERE to shop.
PS - right now this oil is 15% off!!

MY FAVORITE THINGS // HOLIDAY ESSENTIAL OIL BLEND

12/18/2017

I <3 Essential Oils!!
It’s almost Christmas!! I can’t believe it’s that time of year again! I’ve mentioned my love for essential oils in previous posts – but for those who missed it, I am obsessed. I have a diffuser on the nightstand next to my side of the bed and I love to diffuse different blends when we’re winding down for the night or just hanging out in bed on the weekends. All the different scents create different effects – and it’s not toxic in the air like burning a candle. Over the weekend, I used my essential oils (from Rocky Mountain Oils, of course) to create a holiday blend and it was soo nice!! I diffused it all day on Sunday and it made our apartment subtly smell so nice and festive. To create the blend, I used the oils below (three of which - cinnamon bark, nutmeg and blood orange - are 20% off until the end of the day!!). Click the photos below to shop. If you don't own a diffuser, this is a great one to try. Happy diffusing!!
