MY FAVORITE THINGS // MARCH FAVORITES 2019

3/29/2019

Happy Friday everyone! This is that awkward time of year where everyone in NY is like "Pleaseeee, I can't take the cold anymore!" Fingers crossed that the weather starts warming up soon because I'm so excited to break out my spring clothes and stop wearing heavy jackets. Check out my March favorite things below, and have a wonderful weekend!

Trader Joe's Everything But The Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend

If you shop at Trader Joe's, do yourself a favor and pop this in your cart the next time you're there. I love it!! It's basically a bottle of the seasoning from everything bagels. I like sprinkling it on roasted veggies for some extra flavor (it's great on brussels sprouts!). I feel like it would also be yummy on roasted potatoes. You can even sprinkle it on top of your cream cheese on a bagel. Delicious!

Keep It! Podcast

I was never a podcast person and I never really understood why people always went on about them (I can be stubborn and avoid things that people keep telling me I "have to" do/see haha). But this year I've started listening to them on my commutes and I really do love it. The Keep It! podcast is one of my favorites. It's about the week in pop culture and it really catches me up on everything happening and cracks me up! I've definitely laughed out loud on the subway listening to this. Highly recommend it!

Dr. Teal's Epsom Salts

I've recently started taking baths for the first time in my adult life and it's become one of my favorite ways to relax and recharge. I probably do a bath about one night a week and I use Dr. Teal's Pure Epsom Salts. You can find them at Target and they come in a variety of scents. I've tried a bunch and I love them all for different reasons. Epsom salts help to ease sore muscles (which is great after a long week of hunching over a computer or during my period) and detox the stress hormones from your body. I love that Dr. Teal's are scented with essential oils. They smell so delicious! I also recently read that a hot bath burns as many calories as a 30-minute work-out. Sign me up!

Dating Around on Netflix

Adam and I had so much fun watching this reality show together! Each episode features a different New Yorker going on a bunch of blind dates, and then they surprise the viewer with who they decide to meet for date number two. We loved guessing who they would choose and laughing about the awkward moments, etc. I'm so curious if any of the couples will end up together long-term!

TARGET TRY-ON SESSION // MARCH 2019

Target has really upped its fashion game lately and I'm always surprised by the adorable styles they have in store. I have already professed my love for their Universal Thread denim (so affordable and so cute!) but I wanted to try out some of their other collections. So over the weekend I had tons of fun doing my very first try-on session to share with all of you! I dug through the racks for cuteness and quality and tried a bunch on so you don't have to (FYI the Target fitting rooms have a 10 item limit haha I'm an expert now). My Brooklyn Target (which is located inside of a small mall) just redid its fitting rooms and they are gorgeous, and actually have great lighting for pictures. Check out my thoughts on what I tried on below and click the links to shop. If you like posts like this please let me know in the comments! I'm thinking I might make these Target try-ons a more regular thing. XOXO

Who What Wear dress, $44.99

I loved the color of this dress, which is why I tried it on. The quality is great for the price! I think the length of it was a bit overwhelming on my 5 ft 4 in frame (I'm wearing a size small), but the tied waist is definitely super flattering. I think with block heels and a cute clutch this would be a really pretty dress for a special occasion on a taller girl. I couldn't find this style online to link to, but it was still in stock at my Target store.

Fifth Sun t-shirt, $14.99
Universal Thread cardigan, $24.99
Universal Thread denim, $27.99
Universal Thread field jacket, $39.99

I have been wanting to try on wide leg crop jeans for a while now. I thought I wouldn't like them on me, but these were actually super cute! They would look adorable with sneakers or mules this spring.

I found the floral tee in the "juniors" section near the Wild Fable collection. I tend to stay away from this area because the quality isn't as nice and the clothes run small/short/cropped (more suited for teens), but this shirt caught my eye! I sized up to an XL because I didn't want it to look cropped and it ran really small. I paired it with a cozy Universal Thread cardigan (sized up to a Large for an oversized fit).

I also tried on this Universal Thread field jacket (size small) and it's classic and cute! The quality is really great and I love the way it fits. Its perfectly oversized and cozy. This coat could work for spring and fall!

Who What Wear utility jacket, $49.99
A New Day skinny chinos, SALE $15.00
A New Day crepe cami, $17.99

This jacket was my favorite item I tried on. It's just so special. The quality is amazing, and it has so many cute design details that make it stand out. I love the pop of white with the waist ties, the slight balloon sleeves, and the black detail on the lapel. The material is awesome too!

I paired it with these comfy cotton stretch pants from A New Day (size 2). These were actually pretty comfortable and flattering for work pants, and the length was perfect on me. They are on sale for just $15! I added an A New Day cami that is the perfect spring layering piece. You can wear a nude bra underneath and I love the dart detail at the bust. It's perfect to throw on under a light cardigan on warm days.

Universal Thread wrap dress, $27.99

I wanted to love this dress but I think it was just a bit big on me (this is a size small, I think I need an XS). I do love the color, and the wrap silhouette is so flattering. It would be cute for work in spring and fall with booties and fun accessories. I think this could be a great dress on someone a bit taller/curvier than me!
