This craft idea was pretty easy to come up with… I love wine, I love glitter, I love stemless wine glasses, and I thought it would be fun to put them together!

My DIY Glitter Wine Glass turned out so cute! It only took about 40 minutes to make and the materials cost less than $25 (thank you, Target!). I think these would be adorable homemade party favors or gifts. You could even change up the color of the glitter for various holidays and events.

The project itself was simple. I didn’t get frustrated at all during the process – just a little covered in glitter (which was kind of fun). I found it to be an easy, relaxing project to do on a quiet night after work. It didn't turn out as perfectly as I'd imagined, of course, but the outcome was still cute!

Follow along on my crafting journey below – I’ve included some helpful hints to make the process easier. If you end up creating some DIY Glitter Wine Glasses of your own, please share pictures. I’d love to see how they turn out! Cheers!! Xo

Materials:

One stemless wine glass (washed and dried)

Assorted glitter (I used the Martha Stewart Glitter Library)

A small foam brush

Mod Podge Dishwasher-Safe Gloss

Scotch BLUE painter’s tape (safe on glass)

Mod Podge Clear Acrylic Sealer

Paper Towels (to cover your work table)

Instructions:

1) Use painter’s tape to create a border around the center of the glass. This will allow the glitter to be applied evenly and only on the bottom half of the wine glass (HINT: I found that using several smaller pieces of tape, rather than one long piece, made it easier to surround the glass evenly).

2) Select the glitters you would like to use and combine them in a small bowl. Mix well (HINT: I used a mixture of different shades of blue, accented with pink).

3) Using the foam brush, apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to a small section of the bottom half of the glass. Then, working quickly, sprinkle glitter over the section, allowing it to stick. Pat down any glitter that is not lying flat. Hold the glass still for 30 seconds while the section dries.

4) Repeat Step 3 until the entire bottom half of the glass is covered with glitter.

5) Let the glass sit for 15 minutes to dry.

6) Carefully spray the glitter with the sealant spray. Be careful not to spray the upper half of the glass.

7) Once dry, remove painters tape and voila!!

NOTE: Be gentle when hand washing the glass. Avoid scrubbing the glitter section.

Hello! My name is Abby Formella. I'm a 25 year-old working girl living in the lovely borough of Brooklyn, New York and I love easy crafting, comfy clothes and simple recipes.

I love easy crafting because I’m not exactly the most patient person. I get extremely frustrated when a project has too many complicated steps. I can’t tell you the amount of half knitted scarves I’ve abandoned over the years because I just didn’t have the patience to get through it. Easy crafts are, in my impatient opinion, the best. They’re simple enough to accomplish in one sitting but still give you a feeling of accomplishment (without making you lose your mind in the process).

I love comfy clothes because I don’t think looking cute should be painful. Easy layers, soft cardigans and plain white sneakers are my thing.

I love simple recipes because I have fun creating delicious food to share with others without spending all day in the kitchen. I like starting my Sunday mornings with a big egg scramble, and I’ve never met a one-pot dinner I didn’t like.

I decided to start this blog as a way to share the fun things I do to bring cuteness and joy to my life. I hope to share lots of easy crafts, comfy clothes and simple recipes, all tested and approved by me!

Thanks for checking in on what I’m doing! Xoxo
